The main and oldest representative of this group of substances are classic soaps. They are alkaline salts of fatty acids and are probably the most widely used daily consumables today. Precisely because the skin of each of us comes into contact with them today and every day, they require increased attention.
Questions about the harmfulness or benefits of soaps are among the most common not only in professional cosmetic care, but also in dermatological surgeries, and not only among lay people, but also among doctors who do not directly deal with this issue. There are many superstitions, ambiguities and illusions. After all, one of the most dangerous are the beliefs and irresponsible advertising that skin that does not tolerate ordinary soaps will tolerate children's soaps, obese, medical, lanolin soaps. However, objective tests show that there is no fundamental difference in the tolerance of individual types of soaps. The skin either tolerates soap and does not object to it, or it does not tolerate it and it is necessary to limit its use to a minimum or, in the extreme case, to avoid it altogether.
